Overview

Department of Dermatology, GMERS Medical College, Sola is committed to provide holistic care to patients with all kinds of skin diseases. 

Department offers various services to patients including consultation, biopsy for skin diseases, radiofrequency and electrocautery treatment, cryotherapy, CO2 laser treatment and various minor dermatosurgery procedures including treatment for hair and nail disorders.

Cosmetic dermatology treatments including chemical peeling, acne scar therapy, PRP therapy etc. are reguarly done by the department. Cosmetic lasers and phototherapy are available in the department

Several research projects are ongoing in the department under ethical committee guidelines and approval. 

Patient care and patient safety are priority at our department.

2 2024 World Vitiligo Day 2024

The Department of Dermatology celebrated World Vitiligo Day on June 25 with the theme "United by Skin". Awareness was created amongst patients in the out patient department by presentation of different slogans created by third year and intern students. It was a good opportunity for all to understand not to differentiate on the basis of colour and that it is not a contagious disorder.

3 2024 World Neurofibromatosis Day 2024

The dermatology department celebrated the World Neurofibromatosis Day 2024 on 17/05/2024 during which a quiz event was conducted with the interns and slogans were created by final year MBBS students. An awareness program was conducted for the families of patients of Neurofibroma to sensitize them towards the disease and to prevent any kind of discrimination of patient.

4 2024 CDCON 2024:

Faculties and residents of the department took active part in the organisation of the Cosmetic and Dermatology Conference 2024 mainly chaired by the CDSA. It was an enriching opportunity for everyone to attend lectures on new advances on cosmetology by national and international faculty. Many interesting hand-on workshops like Botox, Fillers, Lasers, Peels were conducted. Few residents of the department also presented their Papers on cosmetic topics in the conference. Overall it was a very fruitful and wholesome experience for the department.
5 2024 World Leprosy Day

On 30th January 2024, the department of Dermatology at GMERS Sola celebrated World Leprosy Day with the theme of Beat Leprosy. Awareness was created by a short skit in the out patient department for patients about leprosy, the symptoms and management. Posters and slogans were also created to address the eradication of the stigma associated with leprosy and to promote the dignity of the people affected by the disease.
6 2024 CME on Trichology updates

The department of dermatology attended the CME on trichology updates organised by the Cosmetic Dermatology Society of Ahmedabad. The academic CME included many interesting lectures by inspirational and well known names in the field of Dermatology.
