Anaesthesia

Overview

Established in 2010, this department has evolved over time in providing best of care to patients & also training of Undergraduates, Intern and Post graduate students. The department has a staff strength of 14 faculties, 5 Senior residents and 23 post-graduates students. The faculties are trained in various specialties like cardiac anesthesia, Neuro-anesthesia, Transplant anesthesia, Pediatric anesthesia & intensive care. State of art technology and science is being used including multimodule monitors, newer anesthetic agents, USG guided regional anesthesia and variety of difficult airway equipment like fiberoptic bronchoscope and video-laryngoscope.

Facilities
.
  1. Pre-Anaesthetic Evaluation / Clinic
    • Assessment of patients before surgery to identify risks and plan safe anaesthesia management.
    • Optimization of patients with co-morbidities (e.g.,hypertension,diabetes,tuberculosis,thyroid,anaemia,COPD) in the peri-operative period.
  2. Anaesthesia for major and minor surgeries
    • General anaesthesia.
    • Regional and local anaesthesia (e.g., spinal, epidural, nerve blocks).
    • Monitored anaesthesia care (MAC) for minor procedures.
    • Round-the-clock anaesthesia coverage for emergency operations and critical situations.
  3. Non-Operating Room Anaesthesia (NORA)
    • Anaesthesia support outside traditional OTs for procedures in MRI/CT, endoscopies, ECT, etc.

4.       Post-AnaesthesiaCare Unit (PACU)

    • Recovery area where patients are monitored immediately after surgery.
  1. ICU / Critical Care Support
    • Surgical ICU, Trauma ICU, Ventilation support and Advanced monitoring for post operative and critically ill patients.
  2. Pain Management and Clinics
    • Acute pain care, including opioids and Ultrasound guided and PNS guided nerve-block techniques.
    • Chronic pain management by Holistic, therapeutic and interventional approach.

Equipment & Technology

7.       AnaesthesiaWorkstations

    • Equipped with ventilators, oxygen delivery, vaporizers and gas monitoring.
  1. Monitoring Devices
    • Multiparameter monitors (ECG, SpO2, BP, EtCO2).
    • Invasive monitors (CVP, arterial pressure) for high-risk cases.
  2. Airway and Life-Support Gadgets
    • Laryngoscopes, video and fibreoptic scopes, supraglottic airways, defibrillators and crash carts.
  3. Ventilators and Respiratory Support
    • Mechanical ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP devices and high-flow oxygen systems.
  4. Simulation / Training Facilities
    • Our hospital offerstraining for airway management, BLS/ACLS training, and emergency preparedness.

o   Ultrasonographymachine to facilitate vascular accesslike central line, dialysis catheter,arterial line, give peripheral nerve blocks.

    • Supervision of medical students, interns, residents in Anaesthesia techniques and peri-operative care.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and AdvancedCardiac Life Support (ACLS) training for hospital staff.
